SQSC 31 Everybunny Loves Sale A Bration!

This bunny (and all his good friends) LOVE Sale A Bration at Stampin' Up!  Why?  Because this "Everyday Enchantment" designer paper was FREE.  I am stocking up on this paper as it has quickly become one of my favorites.  The colors and patterns make me happy and although the Free stamp set that matches it is "Fresh Vintage", I think it works with every style as this cute whimsical bunny shows.  I paper-pieced the balloon and basket and stamped just the flowers additional times by coloring that part of my stamp with a Stampin' Write marker.  I then colored everything with my In-Color Markers and the bunny with Crumb cake. The balloon was given further dimension using a cut piece of a Stampin' Sponge tapped onto my Pool Party and Lucky Limeade ink pad. The sky was also put in with the sponge. (I cut my sponge wedges to make it easy to add small amounts of color right where I want it and it also makes the sponges go much further.  Each wedge is marked with the same color piece of paper on the end and I never have to clean them. Just throw in a plastic bag and they last forever ( I have never replaced mine unless a cat gets hold of one.  Be aware...They are a favorite toy! )

This card uses two of Stampin' Up!'s ribbons.  Lots of fun to make and I will include this technique in some upcoming classes. Add some paper flower pretties and a button and the card is complete with a variety of texture.  Bright, fun, and unusual :)

 I FINALLY have my new computer up and running.  After 4 brand new laptops got the blue screen of death, my husband decided to build me a new desktop. Very cool and fast. Not portable but I will get over it. I now have no more excuses for not posting more often.

Asian Artistry meets Fifth Avenue Floral

Happy Easter and Spring Everyone!  I am a bit under the weather today so I made something bright to cheer me up. I took a fabulous Brayering class with Michelle Zindorf and now I am finally putting the techniques to paper. (right after I came home from the class, I laid out all the cards I had made for everyone to see....and then "Nani-NO!" (the cat that shall remain infamous forever) got on the table and promptly thew up on half of them:(  Hopefully, that was not a comment on my cards.

This one is now in a clear envelope and I am going to make some more after I kick Nani out of my studio.  I will be teaching a class "Everything Feminine" using these sets to celebrate Stampin' Up!'s sale of some "Two-Step Stamping"  sets.

Inspired by Pansies

 
I am so excited about Spring!  Our NC winter was a long one and we have been ready for any life that Spring brings.  Flowers are starting to bloom and I can't wait to get into the garden to plant Pansies. I was inspired by a technique  Mary Jo Price-Williams  showed on how to make watercolored pansies and decided that this would be a perfect flower to make for an upcoming "All Things Feminine"  class.  I used my favorite Cottage Wall DP from SU and Rich Razzleberry for my main color in the flowers.  The FREE Sale a Bration set, Whimsical Words was used for the sentiment. What a fun technique!  You will love watching how each flower evolves.  If you are interested in taking this class, please email me days and times that will work the best and I will do my best to fit it in.

I have not posted for awhile.  In fact, I have not stamped much for awhile either.  Don't worry, I have not given it up.  I  moved my studio upstairs and it has been quite a challenge finding room for everything!  Putting 2 1/2 studios into one larger room was not the piece of cake I thought it was going to be.  (Sshhhh...don't tell my husband.  He doesn't know I own that much;)

I have found all kinds of goodies.  One was three packs of Make n Take kits that I purchased at SU convention a number of years ago.  I had meant to teach a class with them but they somehow got buried.  My new goal is to use some of what I already own.  (I was going to say use up everything I own before I buy new product but we all know that would be a fib!)

This fit in pretty well with the sketch challenge from Mary Jo (aka technostamper).  I took a little liberty with the sketch in order to fit in the precut paper but overall, I am pretty happy with it.  I decided that this will be part of a coloring class.  It is one of my favorite things to do and time and again, I have heard from lots of people who are not comfortable with it.  All the coloring on this card was done with Stampin' Write Markers and the wonderful new "Garden from the Heart" stamp set from the Ocassions Mini Catalog (I ordered it with the new clear mount stamps and LOVE, love, love them!).
