Stampin' Queens Second Sketch Challenge

 
Love this new sketch challenge.  I immediately thought of stockings hanging in the place of tags.  Must be that I am tired of the heat and that I also LOVE the new Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini debuting on September 1.  This card uses the upcoming Christmas Lane Simply Scrappin' Kit and Stocking Builder Punch. You will be seeing lots more samples using these two items:)

Hexagon Box for a Friend

I was trying to come up with an idea for a little treat box for a friend and wanted to use some of my new goodies from Stampin' Up!  This was the first time playing with the Lace Ribbon Border Punch and I was surprised how easy it was :)  I can see the holiday ideas rolling right in.  This will be a good project for a mini stamp camp so be on the lookout. The box is made using two mini milk carton die cuts.  (this box idea is credited to: designs by Sunghee)

Very First Sketch Challenge for a New Design Team!

I am so excited to share some great news.  Well, maybe excited isn't the word.  Maybe Bubbling Over and running all over the house is more like it.  One of my dear and very talented friends Cristena Bagne from Gettin Crafty has started a NEW Design Sketch Blog called Stampin' Queens Sketch Challenge.  She has put together a great design team and I am so honored to have been chosen to be a part of this group:) Thanks Cristena!!  I love this first challenge.  It was so hard to figure out which theme direction to go in as it inspired lots of ideas.  In the end, I thought I would keep it bright for summer.  This card will work well for many occasions.  I know you will all have lots of inspiration from the sketch and I can't wait to see what you come up with.  Go check out Cristena's new site and make sure you link up to it with your new creation before next Tuesday. Everyone that participates will be entered in a drawing via Random.org with the opportunity to win a new Stampin' Up! roll of ribbon. simply scrappin kit into cards

I LOVE a design challenge!  Using Stampin' Up!'s Simply Scrappin' Kits, I create classes featuring about 50-55 different card designs per kit adding in some current stamp sets, additional paper, and assorted fun accessories. The class is easy for the participants, starts the creative thinking "out of the box", and is instant gratification for someone that does not like to design from scratch. When I saw the Playful Polka Dot SS kit in the Summer Mini Catalog, I knew this would make a great class.  But what to do about one particular pattern paper that would usually be used for a 12 x 12 scrapbook page? Think, Janet, think...hmmm... a COUCH.  It is a stretch but add some sponged shading and the image from "C is for Cats" and you have a fun result.
